A Day At The Stables

Stables { from 9.30am till 4.00pm
} cost £30.00 each.
A Day at the Stables must be
pre-arranged please phone for
details Minimum age 7 years.
Beginner and Novice Schedule
below:
On your arrival you will be
shown around the stables and stable
yard, at this time you will be told
about some important yard rules,
for your safety.
You will then be introduced to all
the horses and ponies at the
stables and told a little about
each one. You will be given a
demonstration and supervised
instruction on how to muck out a
stable using the tools and working
around a pony, or horses
safely.
You will have some instruction
about grooming brushes and how each
is used.
You may Groom a pony, and help make
up the feed buckets.
You will be taught about putting on
a halter, and tying up a pony or
horse safely.
Assist the riding instructors
getting the ponies ready for
lessons,
You will have a half hour riding
lesson in the all weather sand
arena.
Then you bring ponies in groom and
feed. Lunch time for you,
Tack up and go for a half hour ride
along the forest track receiving
instruction along the way.
On your return you will receive a
lecture on horse care or tack,
You may give your mount a final
groom and feed before you go
home.
Our client assessment of
Beginner is someone who has ...
never ridden before, or someone who
has ridden before and almost has
their rising trot with some
assistance to steer at this pace.
Our client asessment of Novice is
someone who has just got their
rising trot and can steer
unaided.
If weather is unpredictable,
please bring wellington boots and a
waterproof jacket, we can provide
riding hats and boots.
